Good Boy came back with an action-packed Episode 2 on Sunday, June 1, 2025, airing on JTBC and Amazon Prime Video. Instead of flashing back or dragging the story out, the show picks up exactly where it left off–with the misfit team going head-to-head with their enemies. And guess what? They actually manage to take them all down. Against all odds, the underdogs pulled off a victory—and it was so satisfying to watch.

Good Boy Episode 2 Recap
Dong-ju ki of course, handled most of the thugs, leaving only Golden Bunny standing. Their face-off had been hyped up, and even though Golden Bunny strutted around like a flashy villain, Dong-ju landed a brutal punch that literally knocked out both of his golden front teeth. I was not expecting that moment to be so hilarious and satisfying at the same time.

Jong-Hyeon and the rest of the team also won their fights, and suddenly, everyone was talking about the Insung Police Department again. Reporters are waiting, people are interested, and for once, these so-called “loser recruits” are getting recognition. But this is a K-drama, after all—there’s already someone shady inside the system, and the Bunny brothers won’t be locked up for long.
Later that night, Dong-ju follows Ha-na to make sure she gets home safely. He even snaps pics of broken streetlights in her neighborhood. It’s such a small, thoughtful gesture and really shows who he is. Ha-na, though, keeps her guard up. She tells him straight up she’ll never like him back—but Dong-ju just takes it with a smile and doesn’t give up.

Things take a more emotional turn when we find out Dong-ju’s cousin Young-il is back after disappearing for a few days—and he’s not well. He needs surgery, and now Dong-ju is more determined than ever to stick with the team and make money however he can. He’s fighting for more than just justice now—he’s fighting for family.

Meanwhile, Man-sik tries to butter up Commissioner Cho Pa-yeol by giving him a massage while pitching the idea of making their group an official task force. He hypes up everyone’s skills—-Dong-Ju’s boxing, Ha-na’s shooting—and drops the phrase, “Faster, Further, Stronger.” The commissioner seems to like the idea and even jokes about turning them into “The Avengers,” which Man-sik runs with, calling himself Iron Man. I cracked up at that part.
But in true Good Boy fashion, it all goes sideways. The next day, they find out they’ve been turned into…a PR team. Yep, instead of taking down bad guys, they’re now supposed to pose for the press. Ha-na gets asked to show off her shooting skills at an event, and of course, she hits every bullseye—but just as she finishes, the commissioner steps into the range and gets shot. Thankfully, he’s wearing a bulletproof vest, but still, the moment is just peak awkward.

Ha-na, understandably humiliated and angry, storms off and disappears. Jong-hyeon tracks her down at a shooting range near the airport, where she’s venting her frustration, one bullet at a time. She tells him she wants to quit and that she doesn’t care anymore. But he reminds her of the dream she once had and asks her to at least finish the case before walking away.
Then there’s this moment that hit hard—Ha-na visits the family of the hit-and-run victim to return his belongings. His son looks up at her and simply asks her to catch the people who killed his father. That one line might be what brings her back to the fight.

Back at the station, Dong-ju and Man-sik try to question Golden Bunny, but he’s pulled from the case and taken away by another team. It’s all super sketchy. Then Man-sik gets a tip about where some suspects might be hiding, but right before the mission, he accidentally eats what he thought was candy—but it turns out to be laced with drugs. His behavior turns chaotic (and honestly, a little funny), but in the middle of it, they lose a key suspect, and Man-sik ends up getting seriously hurt. Dong-ju risks everything to save him.
Then comes the biggest shock—Dong-ju finds out that Young-il, his cousin, has confessed to the hit-and-run. But he knows it’s not true. Young-il’s being pressured to take the fall. That’s when Dong-ju really goes into detective mode.

At the victim’s funeral, Dong-ju spots a man wearing the same watch he saw on the real culprit during the accident. He checks the guest register, tracks the man to the Insung customs office, and confronts him. The guy denies knowing Dong-ju, but we all know the truth. And now, Dong-ju’s ready to go all in—even if it means risking his job, his safety, and everything else.
Final Thoughts
Good Boy Episode 2 Review delivered on every front—action, emotion, suspense, and a bit of comedy thrown in at just the right moment. Dong-ju’s character is really starting to shine, and Ha-na’s internal struggle feels so real and relatable. Man-Sik brought in the laughs but also showed how deeply he cares about this team. The show’s pacing is great, and every episode leaves you wanting more.
